Learning Assistance is an interdisciplinary
support service. Its administrators and practitioners have
varied backgrounds and professional interests including educational
technology, distance education, administration, educational
psychology, research, corporate training, tutoring, special
populations, and developmental education (writing, math, reading,
critical thinking, and study skills). The Internet has given
learning support center administrators and their staffs an
almost illimitable networking and research capability through
its thousands of web sites that relate to learning support
center management, programs, technology, training, equipment,
and materials. The
following directory lists various categories of learning
assistance related listservs. Many of them can contribute
to collegiality, networking, and increased professionalism
of learning assistance administrators and practitioners.

or to http://www.ibiblio.org/edweb/lists.html
Be
aware, however, that although listservs are valuable because
of the interactive dialogue that can take place on specific
topics, the downside to using (subscribing to) listervs
is the volume of email that will come to your desktop. Many
listservs are archived so that you can search through previous
messages to locate that elusive idea or reference that was
posted some time ago.
If
you find that a learning assistance related listserv or
newsletter has been overlooked, send
us an email with its category and name so we can review
it for this list.
