1) Portland is well-known for its comprehensive MAX
Light Rail (short for Metropolitan Area Express). The DoubleTree
is located less than 10 miles from the Portland International
Airport. Buy a $2.00 "All-Zone" ticket and catch
the MAX light rail system from near the baggage claim area
and take the Red Line to the 11th Ave./Lloyd Center stop which
is directly across the street from the DoubleTree Hotel..
2) Airport shuttle service:
The Blue Star Airport Shuttle has agreed to give us a rate
of $12.00/person one way for all conference attendees (Taxis
are about $40 one-way). Blue Star offers 24-hour service,
departing PDX every half hour on the top and bottom of the
hour. This is door-to-door service. The shuttle is located
outside the baggage claim area, across two lanes, then left.
