Dr. Sandy Miller Holst is the Vice President of Student Affairs at Paradise Valley Community College. Dr. Miller Holst has worked with the College Board, the State University of New York, and the Florida community college system. Her projects have included the development of ACCUPLACER - a Web-based, national assessment and placement system for community colleges and WritePlacer - the first online writing evaluation instrument using artificial intelligence, as well as the implementation of an Intrusive Student Services Model designed to increase academic performance and persistence of historically bypassed students. Earning a Ph. D. from Capella University and an M. Ed. from Columbia University in Educational Leadership, Dr. Miller Holst endorses an “Excellence by Design” paradigm that encourages engaged learning, disruptive innovation, and global competitiveness.
