 Associate Degrees
The Associate in Arts, Associate in Business and Associate in Science are designed primarily for students who wish to transfer to Arizona’s universities. The Associate in General Studies is appropriate for students needing flexibility.
 Associate In Transfer Partnership
The Transfer Partnership Associate is designed for students who have chosen a major and the university they wish to attend. At present, these degrees are available for transfer in particular fields to ASU East, ASU Main, and ASU West.
Associate in Applied Science / Certificates – PVCC Programs
Applied Science degrees are designed for students who wish to earn a two year degree with an occupational or career focus. Although they are not primarily designed for transfer, ASU West, ASU East, and NAU have transfer options for Bachelors in Applied Science.

Degrees/Certificates for PVCC

Arizona General Education Curriculum — AGEC
The AGECs are not degrees but are blocks of classes which include 35 credits of general studies. When completed successfully and posted on students’ transcripts, the AGEC guarantees admission to any of the Arizona universities.

The courses used in the AGECs align with the Associate Degrees in Arts, Business and Science and apply toward the 60-64 credits needed to complete those degrees.

 Course Equivalency Info

Managing and maintaining Maricopa course equivalency information within the Course Equivalency Guide (CEG) is one of the core functions of the Center for Curriculu m and Transfer Articulation.

The CEG indicates how Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and the University of Arizona accept transfer course work (numbered 100 or above) from the Arizona public institutions (community colleges). Applicability of the transfer credit to completion of major requirements at the universities is not indicated in the CEG.

The CEG can be accessed at: http://az.transfer.org/cgi-bin/WebObjects/Admin_CEG

  • Register for classes early and keep a copy of the registration.

  • Attend every class. You have paid for each one of them. Didn't you plan to attend college so it can help you achieve some other goals? Successfully completing classes will help do just that even if you don't see the relevance at first.

  • Save all your receipts (for books, tuition, fees, etc.)

  • Get involved in some campus activity, club, organization.

  • See an advisor, counselor, or instructor at least once each semester to discuss your plans, goals, concerns, etc. At some point in their lives, they have done what you are doing now.

  • If you seem to be having any academic problems in the first few weeks, take action immediately.
    • talk to your instructor

    • sign up for free tutoring--see Learning Support Center
