New Student Roadmap
Six Steps to Registration

This guide has been designed for PVCC students. It explains procedures at the college and the resources available to help you achieve the goals you have set for yourself.

Orientation:

Register to attend a New Student Orientation: "I Start Smart " event at any point during the procedures listed below. Orientations are held each semester and provide a quick start toward a successful college experience. Call (602) 787-7170 for more information.
  1. Complete the Student Information Form, return to the Admissions and Records office in room KSC111, (602) 787-7020, and obtain a Testing Authorization Card for the assessment if needed or complete the admission form online.


  2. Complete assessment (testing) at the Assessment / Testing Center in room KSC226, (602) 787-7050. Assessment is needed if the student is taking his or her first college level English, reading, and/or math course, or any course for which English, reading, or math is a prerequisite. Students seeking a degree who have not completed these courses elsewhere or do not have valid district approved assessments on file, need the assessment as well. See pp. 175-176 in the PVCC Catalog for complete information.


  3. Enroll in the classes. See the registration website or class schedule for a variety of registration methods. If enrolling in person, complete the Enrollment / Schedule Adjustment Form and return it to the Admissions and Records office in room KSC111, (602) 787-7020. The following services can assist with enrollment and selection of classes:

    Advisors provide information for degrees, classes, transfer, and campus resources, and assist with educational goals. Room KSC186 (602) 787-7060
    Counseling Center
    Counselors assist undecided students with life and career goals. Room KSC177 (602) 787-6540

  5. Pay tuition and fees at the Cashier's Office or online through Student Records Access.

  6. Purchase textbooks from the Campus Bookstore in room KSC143, (602) 787-7350 or online at efollett.com

  7. Obtain Parking Permit and Student I.D. Card from College Safety Center in room KSC126 (directly across from the campus bookstore), (602) 787-7900.

    Attend classes as scheduled.
