Assessment/Testing Center-Assessments for Course Placement
Course Placement Assessment Information:
- No appointment needed, tests are offered on a walk-in basis (Click here for walk-in testing hours)
- Valid photo ID required (click here for photo ID information)
- Must have Student Information Form on file (complete online at my.maricopa.edu or in person at Admissions & Records)
- Allow at least one hour for each test (must arrive at least one hour before closing time)
- Scores are valid for two years at any of the Maricopa Community Colleges* **
- One retest per subject per year is permitted after at least a 24-hour waiting period
*ALEKS math scores are valid for only one year. Use of ALEKS has been discontinued as of February 1, 2012.
**A "Reading Exempt" score does not expire
Tests Offered:
- Accuplacer, an untimed computer based assessment which includes reading, writing, and math
- CELSA, a timed computer based assessment for students enrolling in ESL (English as a Second Language) courses
