PUMAS DIG DEEP

On September 11th the PVCC (2-3) men’s soccer team faced Pima Community College (3-2). The Pumas were led by a strong defensive effort to get a great result against last year’s Regional Champs. The game was tied 0-0 at half and stayed that way to finish with a 0-0 draw. Vlad Kalinteev was unlucky with 6 of the 7 shots recorded by him, one hitting the cross bar in the first half and a point blank shot that was brilliantly saved off the line by the Pima GK in the second half.

Coach Boris Teoharevic said, “Tonight we held our own against a top program not only in the state, but in the country, we showed that we can play with anyone”.

PVCC recorded 7 shots to Pima’s 12.

Stephen Verdugo now has 155 minutes of scoreless soccer under his belt this season. Verdugo came up big with 4 saves.

On September 13th the Pumas compete against #2 National Ranked Yavapai Community College at 7:00pm at Reach 11 Sports Complex on Field #1. Come out and support the Pumas!
