PUMAS HEAD THEIR WAY TO A VICTORY

The Pumas improve their record to 7-0, beating Chandler Gilbert Community College on September 15th 4-0. Tianna Stewart scored the only goal in the first half with a header off a cross from Ashley Stein in the 32nd minute.

The Pumas scored their second goal in the 69th minute. Ali Doller headed in a corner kick by Marisa Villaverde. In the 83rd minute Bianca Bernal slotted a ball on the top 18yd box and Doller found the back of the net. One minutes later Ashley Johnson scored off a header from a cross from Courtney Chung. This is the third finish off a header from the Pumas.

PVCC recorded 15 shots on goal to CGCC’s 7.

Tessa Hamberlin played the first half in goal for the Pumas. Hamberlin recorded 1 save. Rachel Cardwell went in goal for the second half. Cardwell finished the game with 6 saves.

Coach Kacey Bingham said, “I felt we were moving a little slow in the first half but I was pleased to see the response in the second half. I love the fact that this team never stops competing for 90 minutes.” On September 20th the Pumas compete against Phoenix College at 7:00pm at PC.
