PVCC AND SCC BATTLE FOR TOP SPOT

The PVCC women’s soccer team shutout Scottsdale Community College 3-0 on Tuesday October 2nd. The first half went scoreless, although both teams had opportunities to finish. The Pumas first goal came in the 47th minute by Ali Doller assisted by Courtney Chung. Doller added a second goal in the 56th minute assisted by Kendall Fraley. The Pumas put away their third goal in the 77th minute by Fraley off a corner kick from Marisa Villaverde.

Tessa Hamberlin played in goal for 90 minutes. Hamberlin recorded 4 saves while getting the shutout.

“We had some key players perform. Ali knows how to make clutch plays in crucial moments. Tessa had a standout performance in the goal. Our midfield’s possession was impressive. The back line worked hard to add another shutout to our season,” commented Coach Kacey Bingham.

PVCC competes on the road against Cochise Community College Thursday October 4th at 3:00pm.
