PUMAS COMPETE IN ACCAC CHAMPIONSHIP

The PVCC cross country team competed in the ACCAC Championship this past Friday, September 28th. Coach Dave Barney commented, “I think that we had strong team efforts on both sides, but we will have to run far better than we did to get to where we want to be by the end of the year.”

Men:
The men competed in an 8k run. The Pumas finished 2nd out of 7 teams. Matthew Whitlatch was the top scorer getting 3rd place with a time of 25:44.

Women:
The women competed in a 5k run. The ladies team finished 4th out of 6 teams. With a time of 20:05, Callie Clark placed 11th.

“We would like to win every race we enter, but our bigger focus is to be ready at the national meet in November. We've got to keep our heads about us, stick to our game-plan and keep moving towards that end,” Coach Barney added.

The PVCC cross country team competes again on October 13th at the Drews/Neubauer Invitational hosted by UW La Crosse. Those athletes that do not travel will compete at the Thunderbird Classic hosted by MCC on the same day.
