PUMAS WIN ON THE ROAD The PVCC women’s soccer team defeated Pima Community College Tuesday October 9th in Tucson. The score at half time was 3-0. Tianna Stewart scored all three goals for a hat trick. Stewart was assisted by Jessie DeLeon, Ashley Johnson, and Ali Doller. The Pumas continued to push in the second half. DeLeon had two goals with Marisa Villaverde, Erin Turner, and Doller each scoring one goal. Second half assists came from Halie Claiborne, DeLeon, and Villaverde. The Aztecs found a goal at the end of the game for a final score of 8-1. Tessa Hamberlin and Rachel Cardwell each played 45 minutes in goal. Hamberlin recorded 4 saves. Cardwell recorded 3 saves with 1 goal against. “It was important for us to play well on the road. I was very pleased with the tempo at the start of the game. This was one of our most consistent game performances of the year. We need to continue to bring that to every game we play,” commented Coach Kacey Bingham. The Pumas play again this Saturday against Chandler Gilbert Community College at 2:30pm at home. |
