PVCC SCORES 100th GOAL IN FIRST ROUND OF NATIONALS
Melbourne, Fla. - PVCC defeated Louisburg College in the first round at Nationals 3-0. The Pumas took control of play early in the game scoring in the 11th minute. Jessie DeLeon finished off a cross from Ashley Johnson. Twenty minutes later Tianna Stewert crossed a ball to Ali Doller who found the back of the net. The last goal came in the 89th minute. DeLeon blasted a shot that hit off the crossbar and Erica Gonzalez followed and volleyed the rebound for PVCC's 100th goal of the season.
Tessa Hamberlin and Rachel Cardwell split time in the net and each had 1 save.
"This is a great start to the tournament. We did some things very well in the game but will have to make some adjustments moving forward," commented Coach Kacey Bingham. The Pumas play again Wednesday at 11:30am EST against Laramie(#7).
