The Pumas faced off against Iowa Western Community College in the semi finals. After dominating play, PVCC gave up a goal on the only shot from IWCC in the first half. Ali Doller scored a crucial goal with one minute left in the first half assisted by Ashley Stein. The second half remained scoreless along with both over time periods. The teams would face off in penalty kicks. IWCC missed their first kick. PVCC had the lead in PKs until they missed their third kick. With the count tied by the fifth kicker, IWCC missed their sixth kick. PVCC made their sixth kick to put the Pumas in to the championship game.

PVCC Kickers: 1 Ashley Stien, 2 Courtney Chung, 3 Bethany Waterbury, 4 Erica Gonzalez, 5 Jessie DeLeon, and 6 Kristin Lydiard

Hamberlin and Cardwell split time in the net to tally 7 saves.

“We had to overcome a lot of adversity during this game. The wind played a huge factor in the game. Jess was struggling with different injuries. Having to win a game in PKs is never easy. This was our most important win all season,” commented Coach Kacey Bingham. PVCC plays Brevard, the #1 seed, in the championship game on Saturday night.
