To top her Region and Conference accolades for the 2013 season, Puma Softball sophomore Erika Tapia is among 39 players nationally to be named an NJCAA All-American. She is one of 13 to be awarded First Team distinction.

Tapia led the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) batting .542 and with 77 hits. She was in the top five with 19 doubles. Tapia was also among the conferences top 10 with 44 RBI's and 10 home runs.

In her one season with the Pumas, Tapia broke numerous school hitting records. She topped the program record book batting .535 with 84 hits and an on base percentage of .600. She is second in doubles (21) and runs scored (50) while she is third in home runs (10). Tapia was also a force on the rubber for the Pumas. She is second in the record books in strikeouts (152) and wins (13) while she is third in innings pitched (175).

Tapia has committed to University of Arizona to continue her college career next year.
