CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS FINISH IN TOP 5 & 10 AT NATIONALS
The PV cross country team returned from Fort Dodge, Iowa with Top 5 (Men) and Top 10 (Women) finishes under their belts. The teams competed well in their fields on Saturday, November 9.
The men finished ranked 5th in the field of 39 teams. Nico Montanez led the charge for the Pumas finishing 13th overall in 25:58.9. His finish was awarded with NJCAA All-American honors. Brandon Wheat (26:41.9), Andrew Garcia (26:47.1), Roberto Contreras (26:55.2), Basabose Bahati (27:02.3), Lucas Rischar (27:38.8) and Lance Pedersen (28:38.7) all competed for the Pumas.
The women finished ranked 10th in the field of 34 teams. This was the highest finish for the PV women since their 7th place finish in 2008. Billy Jo Dytrt finished first for the Pumas placing 7th overall in 18:43.2. Her finish garnered her NJCAA All-American honors. Brooke Binns (19:59.0), Callie Willcox (20:07.6), Andrea Haller (21:03.2), Kayla Forbis (21:08.2), Jordyn Bentley (22:33.7) and Sarah St. Amand (23:14.5) all competed for the Pumas.
