SCHOLAR ATHLETES SHINE IN THE CLASSROOM

The Pumas are as competitive in the classroom as they are on the field/court/track/green. Blowing the previous record of 14 (2012-2013) out of the water, 21 PV STUDENT-athletes will be nominated for NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards for the 2013-2014 academic year. The NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Award distinction goes to student-athletes who have completed three full-time semesters and a minimum of 45 semester credit hours with a GPA of 3.60 or higher.

In addition to the record number of nominees, this is also the first year in which there is at least one nominee in all 12 of PV's sports.

While official designation for these awards will be announced by the NJCAA in mid-June, we wish to highlight these superstar Pumas sooner rather than later.

Those nominated for this distinction include:
Jorge Carazo Diaz - Tennis
Halie Claiborne - Soccer

Jennafer Ingram - Track
Marissa Jauregui - Softball
