It was announced today that Puma outfielder Brick Paskiewicz is a winner of the 2014 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award®. This award is given annually by Rawlings in conjunction with the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Nine players at the Division II level were so honored for their outstanding defensive play during the 2014 season. Of the nine awardees at the DII level, Paskiewicz is one of only two freshmen to receive the award this season. He is one of three awardees that hail from the ACCAC (Thomas, GWCC; Peterson, CGCC).

In 2014 Paskiewicz posted a 1.000 fielding percentage in 53 games for the Pumas. He was errorless and led all Puma outfielders with eight assists. He also posted 82 putouts on the season.

Nominations for the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Awards® are determined by each division’s respective committee. Student-Athletes must be nominated by their respective district to be eligible for the awards.

Paskiewicz is the second Puma in program history to receive this award. Shortstop Shaun McCarty received the award in 2012.
