Open Lab support

PVCC employees have free access to use the software and hardware in the CC Open Lab. Employees are expected to show a PVCC staff ID (available from Public Safety) to access CC Open Lab resources.

Look for persons wearing a green band around their neck with a badge on the end. These are lab staff available to help in the Open Lab.

Employees in the Open Lab requiring in-depth one-on-one help should schedule time with a technology trainer. Technology trainers include:

Software Requests 

Software changes and updates must meet campus software procedure guidelines http://www.pvc.maricopa.edu/it/documents/campus_softwr_guidelines.pdf

Requests should be submitted using the Software Request Form http://www.pvc.maricopa.edu/it/software_req.html

Requests are reviewed by the Lab Planning Committee.

Reserve a CC classroom

Classes, meetings, training, and demonstrations for academic classes have first priority after academic classes, labs are available on a first come, first serve, basis.

Please use our online Room Reservation Form to reserve your classroom.

NOTE: Only existing, installed software is to be used in the CC Open Lab or CC classrooms. You may request a change in classroom software/hardware or image.

"Show Me First" classroom presentation on CC Lab Use policies

"Show Me First" is a brief Powerpoint presentation on all CC classroom instructor stations. The presentation highlights CC use policies for students (takes about 5 minutes). We ask that instructors show it to one of the first class sessions.

Server space for instructors of CC classes

To request server space for instructor or student files, complete a Technology Request Form.

Data projector remote controls for CC classrooms

Instructors may check out remotes for the classroom data projectors at the check-in desk. Please return them to the check-in desk at the end of class.

Student course data files

Student course data files can be requested to be placed on a lab server which is mapped from all student stations in the Open Lab, complete a Technology Request Form.

E147 Multi-Purpose Room

  • This room is equipped with a dual boot iMac computer and a projector for students to practice their presentations
    • Student Practice Presentation Room
    • Faculty meet with students (i.e., OE Online & Online)
    • Block out time slots for faculty, i.e., COM, to meet with students and to provide feedback
    • Students, faculty or staff should complete a Room Reservation Form
