Joseph Campbell and the Hero’s Journey in Film
Using several powerful Hollywood movies as guides, we will explore Campbell’s stages of the Hero’s Journey, that common theme in the inspirational stories of great human achievement and in many world religions. This hands-on, transformational class will activate your mythic imagination and provide you with skillful tools for navigating your own life quests, be they physical, psychological, or spiritual. Students will be required to prepare for discussions by renting and watching films outside of class.

Reader’s Theatre
