Convert Vinyl Records and Cassettes to CD
Learn to convert vinyl records and music cassette tapes into digital files to listen to on your computer or made into CD’s, which will play in any CD, iPod, or mp3 player - by using the method of: a turntable, Plus Deck hardware (internal PC cassette deck) and a desktop PC computer. Other methods will also be demonstrated, using the latest USB technology (for both PC and MAC), and also new stand alone units not requiring a PC, that records directly to either a CD, flash drive or Secure Digital (SD) media card. Please bring a vinyl record and/or music cassette tape, blank CD and/or flash drive/Secure Digital media card.

How to Play Piano by Ear
Learn one of music’s deepest mysteries: how to play songs without relying on music. This course will provide a practical presentation of music theory that includes predicting chord progressions, learning from recordings, and transposing - expressed in everyday language. This is an ideal follow-up to ‘Instant Piano’ and is open to anyone who has a basic understanding of chords on any instrument. Required materials fee of $30 for workbook and CD payable in class.

Instant Guitar for Hopelessly Busy People

This class will introduce you to the language of drums through hands-on learning. You will learn about the basic roots and origination of drums from West Africa, how they evolved from that culture to the Brazilian culture as well as their applications to modern American music. You will learn rhythms and work as an ensemble to communicate in the drum language. Drums will be provided for you to use in class.

New! Introduction to Playing the Bongos
Learn to play several basic bongo rhythms starting with basic bongo beats for Latin, Salsa, jazz, and pop music styles and play along with various CD's to get the feeling of playing along with a live band. The class is open to high school students and adults. Student is required to bring bongos by the second session, available at any drum or guitar store; price range $35 - $75. Handouts include music material and a CD for homework and practice.
