The Practical Writer’s Workgroup
Let’s get those pages written. This class will explore and practice the writing skills necessary in crafting quality fiction and memoir. Elements of fiction, story needs, and literary devices will be discussed and put into practice so the student writer can better craft an engaging narrative. We’ll be writing and working through peer review (critique). Etiquette in the workshop setting will be discussed and implemented, where the student will learn what their readers see, hear and need from the writing. Participants will also gain a critical eye for improving their own work, as well as dialogic skills necessary to assist in the work of others.
