Birdwatching for Beginners
If you are curious about the birds around you but just don’t know where to start, this is for you! Be introduced to the basics of birdwatching and the fun and entertaining way to ‘watch’ them. Learn to spot and identify a variety of birds by sight and sound, how to use a birding book, and use and calibrate binoculars. Text: Peterson’s Field Guide to Western Birds, available at most bookstores and amazon.com. Bring binoculars all classes. For the field trips wear strong, sturdy shoes, bring water, food sunscreen, binoculars and the field guide. Saturday classes will be held off campus.

PC Basics I: Beginning to use Your Computer
This course is designed for those who have little or no experience with Microsoft Windows and personal computers. Learn how to:

  • Boot up and shut down the computer
  • Develop mouse skills
  • Understand the use of media storage
  • Arrange Icons
  • Open and close Accessories programs
  • Size and move windows
