ACRYLIC PAINTS : Medium sized (3 fl. Oz (90 ml) or larger tubes.
Primary red
(one of the following would be a good choice: Napthol Crimson or Permanent Alizarin Crimson or Grumbacher Red or Napthol Red light)
Primary yellow
(instructor suggests Cadmium Yellow Medium or Hanza Yellow Medium, or Azo Yellow )
Primary blue
(Ultramarine Blue is a good choice)
Titanium white
Yellow ochre
Permanent Green Light or Phthalocynine Green
Burnt Sienna

Acrylic Glazing Medium (Golden’s glossy is excellent, but other brands are also good)

Further about paints: student grade, such as Liquitex BASICS, Grumbacher Academy Acrylics, or Reeves Acrylics are adequate for this class. Golden Acrylics are always an excellent choice.

BRUSHES SUITABLE FOR ACRYLIC PAINT include one each: size 2 round; size 8 bright; size 8 filbert. (brushes are available in natural hog bristle or synthetic bristles)

LAYOUT PAPER, such as Newsprint pad 16” x 20” or larger, 1 sketching pencil (HB, 2B, or softer will do), 1 charcoal pencil or stick, and 1 art eraser

2 artists’ CANVASES or archival artists’ boards suitable for Acrylic paints. 16” x 20”. (Example would be Fredrix medium texture canvas). Gallery wrap-around edges are a good choice, because no further framing is necessary. Stapled edges are also suitable.
2 student grade canvas boards, at least 16” x 20”, for practice.

PALETTE (the instructor recommends a Masterson Sta-wet ‘premier palette’ for acrylics, size 12”x 16”), however, other closable acrylic palettes, metallic butcher’s tray or smooth, white plastic paper plates (at least six) can be used. If using plastic plates, please also provide plastic wrap).
2 plastic WATER CONTAINERS (2 to 4 cups capacity each)
1 cake soap suitable for washing brushes
