Drawing with Graphite and Colored Pencils NEW!
Starting with basic graphite drawing techniques, you will learn about shadow, shape and value. Both right and left hand usage and blended graphite work will be explored. Colored pencil studies will investigate color values, technique and color families. We will use both mediums to work from still life and your own photographs. Repeat students welcome! Introduction to Oil Painting
If you ever wanted to learn about oil painting, this class is for you. We will discuss the brushes, paints, painting mediums, palettes, supports and other important basics. Mat Cutting Workshop
Save hundreds of dollars when you learn to cut your own mats in this hands-on workshop. Bring your photo or art piece and learn to measure, cut and double-mat it. Bring 2 mat boards, (1 light/neutral outer mat and one darker inner mat). One double mat per student, if time allows additional mats can be cut. Other materials provided. Learn to weave the traditional Navajo way while gaining an understanding of the spiritual and cultural aspects of this art. Beginning with spinning the wool, you will learn to warp the loom, design a rug, and weave the traditional Navajo way using authentic Navajo tools, supplies and techniques.
