Basic Drawing – On the Right Side of the Brain
Learn basic drawing techniques utilizing ‘right brain’ or right cognitive learning techniques. Basic use of line, shape, space, value, texture and form will be taught in this hands-on course. You will also learn concentration on practical exercises in drawing utilizing gesture, contour, blind contour and negative space visualization. Finally, this course will concentrate on still life – practical and abstracted to develop sighting techniques using a simple approach to media. You must be 18 years or older to enroll. Landscape Painting: Oil or Acrylic
Relax and learn how to paint what you see everyday – the landscape. Learn how and what to use in sketching out a canvas, basic painting techniques from dark to light, and values including shadows from trees and bushes. Seascape Painting: Oil or Acrylic
In two classes, you can learn to master the art of painting sandy shorelines, majestic waves, ocean waters and radiant skies. This workshop is for beginning or intermediate students who are already familiar with handling either oil or acrylic paints. Materials list can be found here.
