PC Basics I: Beginning to use Your Computer
This course is designed for those who have little or no experience with Microsoft Windows and personal computers. Learn how to:

  • Boot up and shut down the computer
  • Develop mouse skills
  • Understand the use of media storage
  • Arrange Icons
  • Open and close Accessories programs
  • Size and move windows
Text, Exploring the PC, can be purchased from the instructor for $35 (cash only). There will be a discussion about the purchase of a non secure, USB flash memory key, which will be necessary for several PC Basics courses.

PC Basics 2: Understanding Your Computer
Continue an exciting adventure into the world of computers!  Understand computer jargon and discover what components make a PC work.  Learning how to use word processing software is probably the most useful of all computer skills. You will also learn:
  • Computer terminology
  • Hardware and software components
  • How to create and save files
  • Text editing and formatting
  • Spelling and Grammar checking tools
  • The process of inserting clip art
