Opening Reception for the Sarah Hurwitz & Brent Adrian Art Exhibit (CPA Gallery)
Details: Location: PVCC Center for the Performing Arts, Lobby/Gallery Admission: Free
Instructors Sarah Hurwitz and Brent Adrian work represent the range of professional instructors that are employed by Paradise Valley Community College. Hurwitz works in large-scale paintings and installations. Her work showcases Sarah and her loved ones in surreal environments. Mimicking her current feelings of being lost, in unemployment, in a competitive art world, in debt, and literally lost in a brand new city. She specifically chooses unnaturally frozen positions, to further emphasize her mode of inaction, and internal conflict. Adrian’s current work explores containers of flesh and blood as metaphors for bodies. He references close-up photographs of plastic and glass vials and bags, questioning the relationship between interior and exterior and examining the boundaries between microcosm and macrocosm.
Dates: March 7- April 6, 2012 Reception: March 7 @ 5:30pm
