MCCCD Leadership Principles (Q120B)
Calendar: cal4
Details:
The "MCCCD Leadership Principles" workshop is required for all existing "people-leaders" within MCCCD who did not take the "Introduction to MCCCD Leadership Principles" workshop as part of their onboarding process. It is designed to clearly communicate what it means to be a leader in the Maricopa Community Colleges.

The two-day workshop is based on The Leadership Challenge Model, which evolved out of a research project started in 1983 by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner who wanted to know what people did when they were at their "personal best" in leading others. Their research revealed five practices, The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership, common to leaders who make extraordinary things happen. These practices, along with their 10 commitments and 30 behaviors, are the most recognized standard of leadership excellence today, and have been adopted as the Five Leadership Principles for Maricopa Leaders.

The research also led to the development of a quantitative instrument that measures the leadership practices they uncovered The Leadership Practices Inventory or LPI, which will be used in this workshop.

Through content-rich lectures, group discussions, workbook exercises, video case studies, team problem-solving, and storytelling, you can expect to:

*Identify your leadership strengths and areas for improvement using the 360 LPI instrument. *Better communicate and focus the efforts of others on fundamental values and beliefs. *Inspire others to share a common vision. *Build collaboration, teamwork, and trust. *Strengthen others' abilities to excel.

*Completion of the LPI 360 Instrument is required to participate in this workshop.

Registration cut-off date is 5 weeks before the date of the workshop to allow time to administer the LPI 360 instrument.
