The Children’s Center at PVCC offers a developmentally appropriate early care and education program for children of students enrolled in classes on campus.

The Center is licensed by Arizona Department of Health Services and accepts DES subsidies for qualifying families. The program enrolls 3- 5 year old children with independent toileting skills.

Our early childhood program is accredited by The National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, a division of the National Association for the Education of Young Children.  More information on the quality indicators of accredited early childhood programs is available at www.naeyc.org.

Philosophy:
We believe young children are competent, resourceful and joyful learners who thrive in a thoughtfully prepared environment. Interactions and collaboration between parents, children and staff create quality learning experiences for all.

Children's ideas, theories and feelings about the world around them are represented through their work and play with clay, blocks, pencils, paint, story and other creative media. Daily interactions in the classroom offer opportunity to communicate, problem solve, and resolve conflict non-violently.

Together with parents as their child's first teacher, the Children's Center staff foster a positive disposition towards learning by creating moments of shared discovery. Our desire is to enter into relationships that reveal and support curiosity and rich imagination of children.
