Mission
The Children’s Center Staff spent several days together in January of 2006 to read, reflect and write about our individual personal missions.  As a way of making our thought visible to you, we created self portrait collages and a brief statement about ourselves and our work. Our center mission statement is also developing and is in process:
quoteInspired by the natural world, The Children’s Center celebrates the joy of learning and advocates for the art of teaching.end quote

Vision
During a collage workshop together in January of 2006, The Children’s Center staff created this visual representation of some thoughts about our work.  We also began to write a vision statement for our work together:
quoteThe Children’s Center is an emotional and physical space where all learners are free to engage and reflect about their learning.end quote

“Children are our greatest resource and every one unique.”
Nancy McNeill
“ I wish to create wholesome environments which invite children and their families to connect to and engage in the natural world.”
Rosemary Hooper
“I see children as my equal. They are intelligent, powerful and kind. We need to treat them as if they are an adult that we respect.”
Kara Cossel
“I love to watch young children express thier ideas and life experiences through the visual arts! I would like to share my passion for art with everyone I meet. We should never stop learning, exploring, and experimenting with new media. If you can't find the words to express yourself, use your hands, use your eyes...make something!”
