Disney InstituteIn spring of 2004, after a semester of fund raising, the Business Club completed a field trip to The Disney Institute in Orlando, Florida with the goals of developing students professionally by using Disney’s’ living laboratory as a classroom.

| In addition to the fun they had hanging out as friends & students, the club was led by a Disney facilitator who guided students through the inner workings, thought processes, innovations and vision behind everything from animation to the organization’s operational challenges using hands on activities, collaborative group learning and on-site field experiences at EPCOT, Disney World & MGM theme parks. |

| The agenda included a “hands on experience” in the field of business, with a behind the scenes tour of Disney operations. Students discovered tricks of the trade used by designers to turn resorts, theme parks and office buildings into Walt Disney World theme parks. |

This adventure produced additional exploration of meaning and content knowledge through personal and interpersonal discovery and reflection both prior, during and after the event. As one student stated,
“I felt that this venture gave me a perspective of business management other than what is taught in a classroom.”
