National Astronomy Night
The Astronomy club, along with the members of the Astronomy Department usually facilitate the viewing by setting up 11", 9", 300mm telescopes and high-powered binoculars on the Astronomy viewing deck just South of Building G.
Astronomy Day is a grass roots movement to share the joy of astronomy with the general population - "Bringing Astronomy to the People."
Trip to Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff!
Take a trip to the observatory where our 9th planet was discovered. On Saturday evenings the public is invited to visit the campus of Lowell Observatory and participate in tours, events and lectures including:
Looking through the historic 24" Clark
Telescope, Presentations on the telescope, it's history, and
it's valuable assistance to the NASA and especially the 1968 Apollo Mission. This
trip is a "must do". |
