Shanghai - May 23, 2006
Coca Cola Plant

The Coca-Cola Company first opened bottling plants in Shanghai and Tianjin in 1927. A third plant opened in Qingdao in 1930.   After a 30-year absence from the country, The Coca-Cola Company re-entered China in 1979, following the re-establishment of relations between China and the United States. Coca-ColaŽ was the first American consumer product to return to China.  The first new Coca-Cola plant in China following re-entry was built in Beijing in 1980. The Coca-Cola system now has a total of 28 bottling companies and 34 bottling plants in China.

We were not allowed to film inside the plant but we were able to walk through and see it operating.

Now this is a field trip!

No matter how you spell it; it's still Coca Cola.

My big chance.  "OK, free Cokes for everyone!"

It seems like only yesterday.

All that Coke, so little time.

And we got a free sample!
