Chad Wahlgren called meeting to order at 5:10pm
Topics Discussed:
- Car Wash: Phi Theta Kappa held a carwash on Wednesday
April 27th from 8:00am to 12:00 pm; we raised $72.00
for the PTK account.
- Earth Day: On Friday April 22, 2005 Phi Theta Kappa
teamed up with the Environmental Club OIKOS to plant 6
Fichus trees around the Softball Fields, the trees
arrived Friday Morning and were planted the same day,
they look great.
- Domestic Violence Walk: On Saturday April 23, 2005 Ph
Theta Kappa participated in the 3rd Annual Walk to End
Domestic Violence, which was held in Downtown Phoenix
at Wesley Bolin Plaza. Phi Theta Kappa had a Team of 5
people, which included PTK Members Sarah Scheg,
Tabitha Stinson and Sandy Stinson; our fundraising
goal was $200.00. Phi Theta Kappa Beat that goal and
raised $213.00 WAY TO GO!!!!
- Project Graduation: We need volunteers for helping
pick up canned food and the children’s books that are
dropped off at the Graduation Ceremony, it will be
held at Paradise Valley High School Auditorium we will
be there from 6-7pm.

- Earth Day: Phi Theta Kappa and OIKOS Environmental
Club has gotten approval to plant trees for Earth Day,
we have decided on 3 or 6 trees, the tree type is a
Fichus Tree
- Car Wash: The Carwash has been rescheduled for
Wednesday April 27th from 8-12 if you are interested
in helping out during those times please contact Chad
Wahlgren via e-mail at cmwahlgren@cox.net If you can
commit 1 hour please let him know
- Domestic Violence Walk: So far Phi Theta Kappa has a 4
member team that will be walking on Saturday April
23rd so far we have raised $155.00 out of our $200.00
team goal for the Sojourner Center by selling to
purple domestic violence bracelets Way to Go Team
- Project Graduation: We need people to be at Graduation
for at least 1 hour to collect canned food and books
so we can have them picked up you would need to be
there at 6:00pm more information when it becomes
available. Also there will be boxes throughout the
school collecting until graduation.
- New Member Orientation: New Member Orientation will be
held on April 20th Wednesday, from 1:30pm to 2:30
Upstairs in the KSC building
- Blood Drive: Sign Ups went very well on Wednesday
April 13, 2005 we have signed up approximately 30
people to donate blood, WAY TO GO. The blood drive is
going to be held on Monday April 25th from
8:30am-2:00pm upstairs in the KSC building

Topics Discussed:
- Earth Day:
PTK has gotten approval to plant trees for earth day,
we are going to plant them by the softball fields, we
are planning of about 5 shade like trees and we need
to raise funds for these we would like to raise about
$400.00, PTK is currently partnering up with the OIKOS
Environmental Club. The Fundraising that is being done
will help both PTK and Oikos Club.
- Domestic Violence Walk:
There is a domestic violence walk on Saturday April
23rd, at 7:00am at Wesley Bolin Plaza which is behind
the State Capital off 19th Ave. Events include a 5K
Run, 5K Walk, Kids Dash, Awards Ceremony, Sojourner
Center’s Finish Line Fiesta, everyone is welcome,
there is a $15.00regestration fee, for more
information or if you would like to join our team you

- Relay for Life:
There will be a Relay for Life for the American Cancer
Society held at PVCC on April 15th and April 16th, PTK
would like to have a team to help show our school
spirit and help out there will be more information to
come.
This event is from 5:00 pm Friday night till
6:00am Saturday morning, this is an all night event,
which represents what people fighting cancer are going
through Cancer doesn’t SLEEP we don’t either. Everyone
is Welcome; if you are interested in joining the PTK
team, please let Steve Nicoloff know you can e-mail

- Scholarship Opportunities:
If anyone is interested in Scholarships can got to
the Financial Aid office and speak with Ken Clark
- Car Wash:
There is going to be a fundraising Car Wash on April
6th in the PVCC parking lot from 8am-12pm, if anyone
is willing to participate please contact Steve

- Reminders:
Blood Drive: Blood Drive: PTK will be holding a blood
drive on April 25th from 8:30am-2:00pm, Sign ups begin
on April 13th from 9am – 1pm at the Wellness Fair.
- Project Graduation: we will be collecting Children’s
Books and Non Perishable food items at graduation on
May 13th there will be boxes on Campus to collect
these items to Donate.
- Congratulations to PTK Alpha Omnicron Chi Chapter for
achieving 4 Star Status and also received a Silver
Pinnacle Award for 2004.
Also the Northern Arizona University Phi Theta Kappa
Alumni Association inducted 19 chapter members at a
ceremony in Flagstaff on March 10, 2005

Topics Discussed:
- AZ Regional Convention at CAC (Central Arizona
College)-March 4-6 if anyone is interested in going
please Let Steve Nicoloff before February 23 if you
are going it is $55/person before February 25th,
$65\person until March 2nd, this will be paid for
through the PTK account so if you are going please let
Steve know by 02/23 that keeps the cost down. For
those who will be going to the Regional Convention.
- Flag Committee with at least 3 people to design and
assemble the flag it must have Phi Theta Kappa and our
school name plus a design for our school, those who
are interested please e-mail me at
tazgirl_85028@yahoo.com as I am going to be part of
the flag committee.
- Congrats to the club:
-The Alpha Omnicron Chi chapter for PVCC was awarded
the Pinnacle Silver Award of $100.00 for the increased
number of inductees.
- Fundraising:
-we need to sign up for Marketplace to help our
chapter raise funds this will be at the AZ Regional
Convention (Deadline in February 28th to register) if
you have any ideas about fund raising please contact
Steve Nicoloff or Chapter President Chad Walgren or
anyone of the Chapter Officers,
-also if you have any ideas for future fundraising
events please let us know.
- Service Projects:
-Phoenix Children’s Hospital, the Phoenix Children’s
Hospital is asking for baby blankets, toys, books, and
teething rings, movie tickets, stuffed animals,
playing cards, coloring books and crayons, games,
puzzles, word search books, and magazines.
-We also need ideas for future service projects to do
with the school or other chapters. Some ideas were
brought up such as Earth Day, Relay for Life, Battered
Women’s Shelters, Domestic Violence, Christmas Angels,
Toy Drive, Penny Wars, and maybe something for
Halloween for under privileged kids, these are some
ideas for the remaining of the current semester and
going into next semester if you have any ideas please
forward them to Steve Nicoloff or anyone of the
chapter officers.

by Monday January 31, 2005 is someone is willing to
write an essay the topic that we need it on is

dish to share, also please bring a Non-Perishable food
item to be donated to the Salvation Army, A cash
donation for the American Cancer Society, or Clothing,
Toys, and Old Cell Phones to be given to the Sojourner
Center, if at least 2 members from our chapter can
attend this will be considered a fellowship to count
towards five star.
- Honors Forum Lecture Series: February 16, 2005, Robert
Moody will present “ Bach to the Future” 7:00pm
Phoenix College, 1202 W. Thomas Rd, Phoenix AZ, and
Bulpitt Auditorium.

Meeting was called to order at 5:10pm
Topics discussed:
- Meeting times, PTK meetings will be
held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month we
will be having a meeting on January 26, and the next
meetings will be held on February 9th and the 23rd the
meetings will be held upstairs in the KSC building at
5:00pm.
-
The Club Fair is coming up on Monday January
24th to Thursday January 27th we would like people to
help out during the busy times between the times of
12:00pm-1:00pm and 5:00p-6:00pm.
- The Hallmark awards
are coming up we need to submit 5 essays to qualify
the topics are Scholarship, Leadership, Fellowship,
and Service, other topics are Distinguished Member,
and Distinguished Officer. If you are interested in
writing an essay please contact Stephen Nicoloff at

- Officer Positions have opened up for the
spring semester the current openings are VP of
Fellowship, VP of Scholarship, and VP of Service, if
you are interested in self-nomination for these
current positions please contact Stephen Nicoloff.
Tyson Sullins has self nominated himself for President
and Sarah Scheg had self nominated herself for VP of
Leadership, Voting on these positions will be held at
the next meeting on Wednesday January 26,2005

Hunger Fest’05 Music Festival Saturday January 29th,
2005 at Glendale Arena Hunger Fest '05 - Join us at
"Hunger Fest '05", a special fundraising concert at
the Glendale Arena on Saturday, January 29th.The
Glendale Arena, Phoenix Coyotes, Westgate City Center,
and Arizona Sting sponsor the concert, which will
feature three major contemporary Christian
rock/alternative bands: Superchic(k), Further Seems
Forever and OC Supertones. Doors will open at noon
with entertainment starting at 1 p.m. Four to six
local bands will complement the national acts. There
will also be a silent auction from 2 to 7 p.m. All
proceeds will benefit the seven food programs, which
feed 79,000 individuals served by Westside Food Bank
in any given week.

Volunteer Opportunities:
- The 50th Annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show
- What: The Annual Scottsdale Arabian
Horse Show is the largest Arabian show in the world, a
must-see Scottsdale signature event with shopping,
food, decorated barns. Each year this event draws over
2,000 of the world's finest Arabian horses to compete
for the coveted title of "Scottsdale Champion." Known
for its elegant beauty, versatility, athleticism and
endurance, the Arabian Horses will compete in hundreds
of events. If you can imagine a horse doing it, you
can see the best in the world competing in it during
the 2005 show. The year's event also includes more
than 250 commercial vendors, creating a shopper's
paradise for all with special auctions and ticket
precedes benefiting Phoenix Children's Hospital.

February 18-27, 2005 See attached documents for shift
times and duties. Volunteers must be 18 years of age
or older. If interested in volunteering, please send
