number of adults who are first-time or returning college students. The resons are many, and there is compelling evidence that this enrollment trend will continue.

For those of you who are considering PVCC, You will find here some resources and strategies for your successful entry to college and college studies.

Personal Counseling:
Counseling for students who may experience personal, family, school, or work problems. Short-term counseling is available for students at no cost. Referral sources are also available.

Career Counseling:
Individual Career Counseling is available to assist students in career decision making. Career interest testing is included in this service for a nominal fee.

Educational Counseling:
Counseling and advisement are provided to assist
new-to-college students with choosing a major and the
selection of course for the completion of certificate and/or
degree programs. Advisement is also provided to students who only want to take clusters of courses for work advancement, to become employment ready or for personal
enrichment.

Seasoned Adult Re-Entry students share hints and tips about how to be successful returning to college.

AWARE Club
This club’s mission is to provide a support system to encourage and assist, in as many ways as possible, the return of adults to their education. Bi-monthly meetings are held.

Lifelong Learning Seminar Series
Bi-monthly seminars on a variety of topics to meet the special needs and interests of Re-Entry adults. These seminars are free of charge and are generally offered on Wednesday afternoons.

Learning Support Center
In the Learning Support Center you will find tutors, faculty, and staff that are strongly committed to your successful learning and provides free assistance with most PVCC classes.

Student Financial Assistance
The Student Financial Assistance Office assists students and their families in meeting their college expenses. Many Federal, State, and Private Sources of assistance are available. While most financial aid awards are determined by financial need, the college also offers non-need based loans. Some available scholarships are based on merit and achievement.
