Peer Mentor Application

For Mentees

This is a one-to-one “students helping students” program in which a Peer Mentor (a trained, successful PVCC student leader) will provide you:
	support in adjusting to college life
	assistance in developing effective study habits and study skills
	guidance in resolving problems related to college
	information on campus resources
	personalized advocacy for your college success

The Peer Mentor Program is a 3-credit class (CPD250) designed to help you, the successful college student, develop and apply your leadership skills in a peer helping relationship.

So, if you …

are interested in a career in human services such as:
- education
- counseling
- social work
- health/medical services
- training and development
have skills in communication and teamwork
practice effective study techniques
wish to serve as a “role model” for new students
enjoy reflection, self-awareness, and personal growth

You will have a great time!
