Information for High School Counselors

Early College is a program at the campus of Paradise Valley Community College (32nd St. and Union Hills) that allows selected high school students to attend college classes during their junior and senior years of high school.

Admission to the Early College Program is by your recommendation. The program is limited to 50 students who will need to test into college-level reading and math (101).

A high school student can complete up to 35 college credits while still in high school and at a tuition rate of approximately 1/3 of the state universities. The Early College credits will transfer “automatically” to Arizona’s state universities.

The classes are scheduled in the afternoon starting at 12:30 p.m. and usually last one hour and fifteen minutes.

Financial aid for tuition is available for students demonstrating “financial need.” Refer to “Early College Grant Program” for application process.

High school counselors should contact PVCC at (602) 787-6614 or earlycollege@pvmail.maricopa.edu for further information
