Stage One: Planning for Realignment

Responsible Parties: College President, Dean of Instruction, Dean of Student Services

Timeframe: July/August 2001

Process Steps:

  • Develop a Learning Centered Decision Process that will encourage college- wide thinking and conversation related to the administrative leadership structure.
    • Designate Membership on College-wide Review Team
    • Organize Dean and Associate Dean Review Team

  • Establish"Foundational Beliefs" to guide the development of the decision-making process.

  • Identify "Compelling Forces" that are influencing the college's decision to engage in the realignment of its administrative leadership structure.

  • Development "White Paper(s)" to suggest basic questions.

  • Create a draft of an organizational chart that is responsive to the compelling forces, basic questions and central realignment questions.
