Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to take an ESL class?
Most of our classes are 3 credits. See Tuition and Fees for the cost per credit.
How do I know which classes to take?
The CESLA placement test will tell you which classes you should register for.
The CELSA placement test is required before you register for classes. See Assessment and Testing for Testing Center location and hours.
I have a degree from my country. How can I get my credits validated?
You will need to have your transcripts evaluated by a company that has been approved by PVCC’s Admissions Office. Visit the Information desk or Admissions and Records for a list of approved companies.
Do I need a social security number to take classes at PVCC?
Proposition 300 requires residency verification to determine tuition costs. Students who are not residents are still eligible to take classes at PVCC. You can read more about Proposition 300 and what it means to students in the Maricopa County Community College District.
Can I still study at PVCC with Proposition 300?
Yes! Proposition 300 only affects tuition rates. It does not affect your eligibility to enroll in classes. Your education is important to us. Both resident and nonresident students are welcome in our program.
How do I get started?
Visit the PVCC New Students Page and follow the enrollment steps.
