Federal Work Study

Federal Work-Study (FWS) provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study. Student must have filed FAFSA to qualify for FWS jobs on campus.  Check with PVCC's  Financial Aid Office to see if you qualify.

Job Duties:  Provides a variety of information on Admissions and Records policies and procedures and assist students on the phone and at the counter with applications, transcript requests, graduation petitions, cancel/add forms, withdrawals, performs on-line registration, schedule adjustments, and fee calculations; inputs data related to students status; process requests for transcripts; performs general office tasks and related duties as assigned. Include alphabetical filing, answering office phones and other duties as needed.
Qualifications: Knowledge of: standard office practices, procedures, and equipment. Experience in date entry.  Ability to: learn and interpret policies and procedures relevant to Admissions and Records; type accurately at an acceptable rate of speed; maintain confidentiality; establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.

Job Title:  America Reads, America Counts Tutor

Job Duties/ Qualifications:  Tutor for Elementary school children in Reading and Math. Position is off campus, reliable transportation is required.
