▪ Paramedic Education & Refresher Programs

The Paradise Valley Community College Paramedic Education Program is a 14-month long schedule that engages the student with approximately 600 hours of classroom and laboratory instruction, and 500 hours of combined hospital clinical rotations and field internship. The program awards 55.5 credit hours which can be applied to an Associate’s degree in a number of related disciplines, and awards completion of a CCL.  In addition to the Paramedic Education Program, PVCC offers ALS refresher courses, as well as ACLS & PALS initial and refresher courses, each month. The PVCC Paramedic Education Program is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).  The program received its first accreditation in September, 2013, with the next scheduled visit in February, 2018.  The PVCC Paramedic Education Program maintains national accreditation by adhering to standards established by CAAHEP and the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).


PARAMEDIC EDUCATION PROGRAM

The Fall 2016 Paramedic Education Program is scheduled to begin August 26, 2016.  This program is now 14 months in length.  Please reference the links below for more information.  The next scheduled PVCC Paramedic Education Program, taking place after completion of the upcoming Fall 2016 program, begins in January 2018.

ALS REFRESHER COURSES

PVCC offers ALS Refresher courses each month. Keep checking this website for up-to-date information regarding our next offerings. The ALS Refresher course is a hybrid course, meaning in person days at PVCC are each Sunday and online course days are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.  This course meets AZ-DHS & NREMT refresher requirements for re-certification of your Paramedic certification. **Disclaimer: Additional CE hours are needed to accompany the refresher for NREMT re-certification.**

Location for In Class Meeting  - For in class days, all ALS Refreshers are taught from 9:00am - 5:00pm at the PVCC Campus located
       at 18401 N. 32nd Steet, Phoenix, AZ 85032. (Map)

Course Fee - $450.00 (subject to change).

Registration - Register online at my.maricopa.edu, by phone @ (602) 787-7000, or on campus at Admissions
       & Records.

       • Prior to the start of class, please go to the following website, AHA PALS Pre-Course Assessment, login with
         the code "compression", and complete the pre-course self assessment for ACLS. Please print completion
         certificate upon successful completion.  Once complete with ACLS assessment, go back to the same
         website, login with the code "palsprovider", and complete the pre-course self assessment for PALS.
         Please print out completion certificate for PALS, and bring both ACLS & PALS completion certificates to the
         first day of class.

ACLS & PALS INITIAL / REFRESHER COURSES
