Summary

Injury prevention is vital to any sport. ACL injuries have become more common in sports such as soccer, basketball, and volleyball. ACL injuries are costly and often have life-long implications for the athlete. Research has shown that preventative training programs can greatly reduce the incidence of ACL injures and improve performance [7,10]. It is for these reasons that it is vital that preseason training programs prepare athletes for competition and protect them from the risk of injury. Additionally, in-season conditioning consisting of 10 - 20 minutes prior to practice can have a significant reduction in the occurrence of injuries [5,7,10].
