Aerobics for Senior Adults

Formatted for older adults with music and class tempo appropriate for those over age 55. Includes flexibility exercises, cardiovascular conditioning, and strengthening and toning exercises.

Non Credit Aerobics for Senior Adults

Formatted for older adults with music and class tempo appropriate for those over age 55. Includes flexibility exercises, cardiovascular conditioning, and strengthening and toning exercises.Must be enrolled in the Fitness Center to participate - no additional registration or fee required.
Low Impact Aerobics
Low impact class teaching the basic techniques of aerobics with the emphasis on fun! Must be enrolled in the Fitness Center to participate - no additional registration or fee required.
Silver Sneakers®
** Silver Sneakers classes are open to qualified Seniors with Secure Horizons, Health Net, or Humanna Gold Choice. Participants must complete paperwork and attend an orientation (Wednesdays at 10:30 am or Fridays at 9:00 am).

Hearts on the Move
A special program for fitness center members with a history of heart disease. Members will receive a specialized program based from their cardiac history and goals. Educational support group classes are offered on Fridays. Topics may include: risk factor management, heart healthy eating, and stress management.
Tai Chi for Seniors Uses movements, combined with music and breathing, to bring about a state of relaxation. You will see an improvement in balance, muscle strength, flexibility, and total well-being.

Golf for Seniors

Special equipment required: Students must supply their own golf clubs. PVCC has only a limited number of clubs for student use. Added Fees: students must pay additional green and ball fees directly to the golf course. The first class will meet in F130.

Gentle Yoga An experiential way to reduce stress through the ancient practice of yoga, which enhances health and well being of the body, emotions, mind, and spirit. The yoga techniques provided in this course are physical yoga, postures, breathing, and meditations. Discussion on related topics include stress management, relaxation, meditations, nutrition, and a healthy lifestyle. Join us to de-stress! Beginners and experienced students are welcome.
Yoga for Special Bodies

Designed for those who have special physical limitations such as arthritis, back stiffness, obesity, and pregnancy, to name a few. Written doctor's release may be required.If you can move, you can do yoga! Beginners welcome.
