Q: How do I get started?
A:Visit College Safety in the KSC Bldg. College Safety to obtain a PVCC student ID, which must be presented to enter the Fitness Center.
Q: How do I check into the Fitness Center to work out?
A:Present your PVCC student ID at the front Desk.
Q: What do you provide? What should I bring?
A: We provide:
Lockers and showers.
* Please bring your own soap & towel. Locks and clothing must be removed from lockers each day.
** A limited number of lockers are available to rent by the semester for a fee of $15.
*** You may also bring your own lock in for use of the “Daily Lockers at no charge. Remove it and your belongings after your workout.
Gym wipes and towels to wipe upholstery as you leave each machine. Please leave all used towels at the front desk when checking out.

Q: May I get a refund on my membership if I stop attending?
A: Refunds are only given to yearly memberships if your medical doctor states in writing that you can no longer exercise. Documentation must be provided within one month of onset of illness. Contact the fitness center office coordinator to initiate the withdrawal. No refunds are given on semester enrollments except as stated in the PVCC schedule of classes “Policies and Procedures.”
Q: Are there any rules I should know regarding the equipment?
A: There is a 20-minute limit on all cardiovascular equipment when members are waiting.
Q: May I bring a friend?
A: You may invite a friend or family member to use the Fitness Center for one visit if they meet the age and health requirements. A guest form must be filled out before participating. A person may be denied participation if they have health risk factors that require a medical release.
Q: May I bring my own personal trainer?
A: No. Only MCCCD Certified Instructors employed by PVCC can instruct at our college Fitness Center. Please inquire about our Jumpstart program for one-on-one training.
Q: Is there an age limit to be a Fitness Center member?
A: For PED115 credit classes:
Participants 16 years of age minimum can work out without a parent present; must have a concurrent enrollment form to enroll. A parent or legal guardian for any student under 18 must sign a release form.
For Non-Credit Fitness Center:
13 years of age minimum. Parent must accompany 13-15 years old unless enrolled as part of a program. Parent or legal guardian for any student under 18 must sign a release form.
*Some Fitness Center Credit Sections include Group Exercise Classes. Ask a Fitness Center instructor for more information.
