From Division
Chair, Kurt Hill:
It is with great sadness that I inform
the PVCC community that Louis Masson has passed away.
For those who might not have known,
Louis was French Canadian. He was visiting family and friends
in Canada when he fell sustaining a broken hip. He passed
away due to complications following surgery to repair the
injury. Services will be in Canada.
Louis had been a part of PVCC since
Fall 1990, teaching psychology and French courses. Louis
had quite an interesting career before he retired in 1981:
Canadian Army - Psychological Services
- 1950-58
Winnipeg Child Guidance Clinic - 1958-63
St. Boniface General Hospital Department of Psychiatry
- 1961-63 (joint appointment with preceding)
Ministerial Consultant in Psychometrics Department of
Education - Quebec 1963-65
University of Calgary - Assoc. Professor of Educational
Psychology - 1965-69
University of Tunis, Tunisia - Professor and Head, Dept.
of Psychology - 1969-71
Private Practice - 1971-1981
Head of Department of Behavioral Sciences - Southern Alberta
Institute of Technology - 1973-81
Retired June 1981
I, for one, will miss seeing him
in the hallways this semester and exchanging a warm "bon
jour".
