Karen O'Dea...

...a very special person, loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing and working with her.
...began teaching at PVCC in 1999.
...was known for her dedication to teaching and working with each and every student.
...provided leadership to her division and colleagues in an ever-expanding field.
...never gave up! The last of her Summer 2004 classes, she came in a wheel chair to continue to do what she loved and knew well.

It is with deep sorrow that I advise the college community of the passing of PVCC faculty member Karen O'Dea. Karen passed away earlier today [August 20, 2003].

Karen taught many of our CIS courses since her arrival at PVCC in 1998. Her first positon was that of adjunct faculty. Subsequently, Karen was hired as a full-time faculty member in the Business Division in July of 1999. Beyond her outstanding work as an instructor, Karen contributed to her division and to our college in many ways. Her dedication to her students and to her discipline was extraordinary.
