Services are designed especially to help ease the transition of adults returning to education.
Adult Re-Entry Seminar Series - Seminars on a variety of topics to meet the social needs and interests of re-entry adults. These seminars are free and open to the public.
AWARE Club provides support and networking opportunities for adult re-entry students.
ASSESSMENT AND TESTING

Administers placement tests for English, reading and mathematics. Instructional exams are also administered / proctored for instructors, other colleges / universities and companies.
ATHLETICS

PVCC sponsors intercollegiate men's and women's athletic teams in Cross-Country, Golf, Soccer, Tennis and Track.
CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER

The PVCC Child Development Center offers child care services for students of the college who have children 3 years of age and older. The program provides preschool in the morning with extended care throughout the day and evening. The center is closed weekends and during college-observed holidays. Requirements include: current immunization history on file and completed registration packet. Children must be completely toilet trained.

COLLEGE SAFETY

Provides security and safety measures pertaining to all persons and property on campus including: security escorts, first aid assistance, campus lost and found, vehicle assistance, accident / theft reports, parking decals (free, but mandatory), emergency assistance, delivery of emergency messages, student photo IDs (first ID is free, replacement is $5.00). The College Safety Office also provides information on personal safety measures, crime prevention information, as well as any crime statistics.

Disability Resource Center

Disability Resource Center (DSC) at PVCC provides reasonable accommodations, classroom accessibility, resources, support services and auxiliary aids to assist students in a successful college career. The DSC provides assistance with registration, academic advising and orientation processes, when needed. Counselors are available to assist special students in the areas of career planning, educational planning and personal/social issues. In addition, tutors, readers, note takers, scribes and interpreters are available, on an as needed basis.
For students in need of special equipment, the DSC provides: enlarged print, teletypewriter phone, talking calculators, assisted listening devices, tape recorders, NCR paper and Sun Sounds Radio.
LEARNING SUPPORT CENTER

Offers free learning support for all academic classes at PVCC. Strategies to improve skills are provided for test-taking, note-taking, memory, vocabulary, textbook reading and time management. Services include: free tutoring sessions: study groups, drop-in tutoring (selected courses), appointments and online tutoring - (selected courses) - FAQ - Tutor email - Web board Resources: video tapes, software and printed materials.
