Internship Partnership Procedures
Before the internship: |
| Step 1: |
 |
Employer will place an Internship Request with PVCC or call 602-787-7073. PVCC will advertise the opportunity to our students.
OR
A PVCC student may contact an employer to initiate an internship. |
Step 2: |
| To ensure the safety of our students at an Internship Site, employers must complete one of the following:
- Employer is required to hire the intern. Intern is required to complete all employer paperwork that is standard procedure for regular, permanent employees of that company. (If the internship is unpaid, the documents related to compensation are not necessary.) Employer must provide a letter to PVCC on company letterhead acknowledging that they have hired the student for an internship. Please include student’s name, beginning and end date of internship, and an internship job title.
OR
- Employer will complete the Experiential Education Partnership Agreement (EEPA) form and the Certificate of Insurance form.

During the internship:
Student must complete a Worksite Information form with Employer input. This provides PVCC the logistics and learning objectives of the internship.
Employer and student will determine work schedule. If the student is earning college credit, then the student is required to complete a pre-determined amount of total hours dependent upon how many credits they are taking of the CWE course. (1 credit=45 hours, 2 credits=90 hours, 3 credits =135 hours). If the student is not earning college credit, then the work schedule is determined by the employer and the student.
Employer will sign timecards to document intern’s completed hours. Student will provide the timecard for the employer’s signature and is responsible for submitting the signed timecard to PVCC.
Employer will complete two evaluations of student’s progress. Student is responsible for providing the evaluation form to the employer and submitting the completed form to PVCC.
