Learning-Centered Update April 1, 2013
According to The Leadership Challenge authors James M. Kouzes and Barry Z. Posner, effective leaders find the time to reflect upon accomplishments, foster collaboration by building relationships and search for opportunities by looking outward for innovative ways to improve.
As we recognize the 15th anniversary of PVCC’s learning centered college journey, I invite you to make a leadership commitment and plan to attend the League for Innovation in the Community College sponsored Learning Summit Conference, June 9-12, 2013, in Chandler, Arizona as part of PVCC’s conference learning team.
The Learning Summit is a working retreat for college teams to connect with colleagues, to share experiences and to discover best practices in teaching and learning. Topics covered at the summit include:
• Student Learning Outcomes
• Student Engagement
• Faculty and Staff Engagement
• Organizational Culture
• Quality, Inquiry and Accountability
Visit http://www.league.org/2/conferences/lcs/2013/about.cfm for additional conference information.
If you are interested in accepting this leadership challenge and joining PVCC’s learning conference team, please contact Michaelle Shadburne at firstname.lastname@example.org by April 22, 2013.
