The electronic editions of record for 600 valuable local, regional, and national U.S. newspapers--all in one easy-to-search database. Each paper provides unique coverage of local and regional news, including companies, politics, sports, industries, cultural activities, and people in the community.

Ethnic NewsWatch
Is an interdisciplinary, bilingual (English and Spanish) and comprehensive full-text database of the newspapers, magazines and journals of the ethnic, minority and native press. Designed to provide the "other side of the story," ENW titles offer additional viewpoints from those proffered by the mainstream press. Coverage begins in 1990. Full-text articles in English or Spanish from 271 ethnic news publications (Hispanic, Navajo, Jewish, Arabic, e.g.) which give unique cultural and ethnic perspectives on current news topics.

Gale Encyclopedia of Multicultural America - Jeffrey Lehman, Ed. 2nd ed. Detroit: Gale, 2000. 1,974 pp. 3 vols.
Contains 8,000 to 12,000 word essays on specific culture groups in the United States, emphasizing religions, holidays, customs, and languages in addition to providing information on historical background and settlement patterns. Also covers ethnoreligious groups such as Jews, Chaldeans, and Amish. Each essay lists organizations and research centers; name, address, and contact information for periodicals, radio, and television stations; and a further readings section.
