WHAT IS CORRECT MLA MANUSCRIPT FORM--PAGES, MARGINS, ETC.? by Kathy McLain, M.A.
MLA general manuscript form tells the writer of essays and
research papers the exact format in which the paper must be submitted in
order for the paper to be accepted. The purpose of the MLA format
is to set a standard for each paper so that all writers prepare their manuscripts
in the same way. It is very important that your paper conform to all
of these guidelines. The following directions were taken from the
MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, sixth edition, written
by Joseph Gibaldi.
